It’s been a while since I shared an update from the studio. Not because my pastel pencils have disappeared into a drawer for good. 😉 Things have simply been very busy with our other work lately, which means there hasn’t been quite as much time for drawing. Still, every now and then I try to…
Sometimes a new Art Wish begins with one very simple thought: I feel like drawing something sweet. After flowers, a butterfly and my Four-Leaf Clover, I wanted to draw an animal again. Not something big or impressive, but a tiny creature instead. And that is how this curious little mouse came to life. Standing on…
Sometimes, we could all use a little extra luck. After creating several drawings centred around themes such as comfort, remembrance and strength, I wanted to create something with a slightly lighter meaning this time. Something positive. Something you could give to someone facing an exciting moment, taking a new step in life, or simply because…
Sometimes you desperately want to do something for someone, but you simply don’t know what to say. When someone is grieving. Has lost someone they love. Is going through a difficult time. It’s always wonderful to see a drawing slowly come to life, one layer at a time. I’m still not completely happy with the background, though. It isn’t quite creating the atmosphere…
Tonight I finally picked up my pastel pencils again. After taking a few days away from drawing, I was really looking forward to continuing my newest Art Wish: Lavender – Serinity. At first glance, lavender may seem to be “just purple,” but once you start drawing it, you discover an amazing variety of shades. It…
Sometimes a drawing feels special from the very first sketch. That’s exactly how I felt about Daisy – New Beginning. After days of patiently building up soft pastel layers, this Art Wish is finally complete. Every petal received the time and care it deserved. A daisy may seem like a simple flower, but its quiet…
Sometimes you spend the whole day looking forward to a quiet evening at the drawing table. Today was one of those days. Tonight I continued working on my newest Art Wish: Daisy – New Beginnings. Little by little, the daisy is starting to come to life. Today I focused on the flower’s centre and several…
