From the Studio – Lavender – Serenity
Tonight I finally picked up my pastel pencils again. After taking a few days away from drawing, I was really looking forward to continuing my newest Art Wish: Lavender – Serinity.
At first glance, lavender may seem to be “just purple,” but once you start drawing it, you discover an amazing variety of shades. It almost feels like “50 Shades of Purple” โ from soft lilac and lavender tones to warm violets and rich deep purples. Those subtle colour variations are what truly bring the drawing to life.
Because this artwork is postcard-sized, everything is incredibly delicate. Every tiny flower requires patience, precision and lots ofโฆ details. Details, details, and even more details.
That’s why I never draw for hours on end. Taking regular breaks allows me to return with fresh eyes, giving every little flower the attention it deserves. I don’t want to rush the process; I want every Art Wish to be created with care, love and intention.
Perhaps that’s exactly what lavender represents.
See you in the next studio update!
Love,
