The Story

The Story Behind Art Wishes

Art Wishes began in 2026.

That year, my father became seriously ill. While he was in hospital, I wanted to give him something more meaningful than a card or a bouquet of flowers. He was facing a difficult and uncertain journey, and no one knew what the future would bring.

Wishing him strength somehow didn’t feel enough. Not because the words were wrong, but because they couldn’t express what I truly felt.

So instead of words, I created a drawing.

I chose a gladiolus.

The gladiolus is a symbol of strength. That was my wish for my father—not just for that day, but for every day that lay ahead. I framed the drawing and gave it to him. Every time he looked at it, he knew exactly what I wished for him: strength.

Sadly, that wish could not change the outcome. At the end of June 2026, my father passed away as a result of his illness.

Losing him reminded me how precious and fragile life truly is. It taught me that we should never wait to express what is in our hearts. Sometimes the smallest gesture becomes the one that is remembered forever.

For years I had dreamed of sharing my drawings with others. Through my father, that dream found its true purpose.

That is how Art Wishes was born.

A place where art is more than something beautiful to look at.

Where every flower, every animal and every subject carries a story.

Where a drawing can become a wish.

A wish for strength.

For hope.

For love.

For comfort.

Or simply to say, “I’m thinking of you.”

Created Slowly
Every drawing is created by hand using pastel or coloured pencils.
There is no rush.
Every layer, every detail and every colour is built patiently, because meaningful art deserves time.

I hope that somewhere among these drawings you will find a piece that speaks to you.

Because sometimes the artwork chooses us, rather than the other way around.
