From the Studio – A New Beginning, One Step at a Time

Sometimes you spend the whole day looking forward to a quiet evening at the drawing table. Today was one of those days.

Tonight I continued working on my newest Art Wish: Daisy – New Beginnings. Little by little, the daisy is starting to come to life. Today I focused on the flower’s centre and several of its petals. It’s always wonderful to see a drawing slowly emerge, one detail at a time.

What do you think so far? Is it becoming beautiful?

I’m truly enjoying every moment of creating this piece. Building a drawing layer by layer and colour by colour is exactly what I love about working with soft pastels. And believe me… those “white” petals still contain many more colours waiting to be discovered.

I can’t wait to continue working on it tomorrow.
