The only things you’ll truly regret are the things you never gave yourself the chance to do
My Personal Motto
My name is Esther, and I was born in May 1971. Creativity has always been part of who I am. As a child, I loved drawing, painting and creating things by hand. Over the years, however, drawing slowly disappeared from my life.
In 2023, I picked up my coloured pencils again. A shoulder injury made it difficult to continue with my favourite handicrafts, and drawing unexpectedly found its way back into my life. It quickly became a passion once moreāone that brings me peace, joy and inspiration every single day.
I live with my husband, whom I married in 1990, in a peaceful village in the Dutch province of Friesland. We don’t have children, but we do share our home with two wonderful dogs, who are very much part of our family. One of them is now enjoying his senior years and still makes us smile every day.
Alongside Art Wishes, I run my own online media company, Transport Online, full-time. It is work I truly enjoy, but over the years I’ve also learned how important it is to make time for the things that nourish your heart. Photography is one of those passions. During the summer months, I love exploring nature with my camera, and in the evenings you’ll often find me at my drawing table.
When my father passed away in June 2026, it reminded me how precious time really is. It made me realise that life is too short to postpone the things that bring you happiness. That realisation became the starting point for Art Wishes.
Through my drawings, I hope to create something that is more than simply beautiful. I hope each piece can offer comfort, strength, hope, joy or become a treasured memory for someone.
I hope you’ll find a drawing at Art Wishes that speaks to your heart. And if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. I’d love to hear from you.
